Recently
called "the last Grande Dame of the piano" by Munich's prominent
Süddeutsche Zeitung, Veronica Jochum is one of the most
respected female pianists in the world.
Daughter
of eminent conductor Eugen Jochum (1902-87), and a former student of
piano legends Josef Benvenuti, Edwin Fischer and Rudolf Serkin, she
has performed in more than 50 countries, collaborating with many of
the world's premier record labels, musicians, orchestras and conductors.
In the Fall of 2005 she celebrated her 40th anniversary on faculty at
New England Conservatory, where she has taught countless young players
the lessons of her mentors.
